Following the recent UK Government announcement made on 4 January 2021 of a new national lockdown, Central’s campus will remain closed for on-site teaching provision until at least mid-February.

Following the UK Government announcement made on 30 December 2020 and the corresponding communication issued to universities by the Minister of State for Universities Michelle Donelan MP, and in line with advice issued by Public Health England, Central’s campus will remain closed for on-site teaching provision until further notice.

In November, Central staff took part in the 2020 Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London in partnership with the Arts & Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.

From 26 – 29 October Central’s Learning Skills programme, in collaboration with the Centre for Race, Education and Decoloniality at Leeds Beckett University, was pleased to present the second annual series of events for ‘Black History’ Interruptions.

In Autumn 2020, Central was pleased to host the annual Collisions Festival, Collisions 2020 Online: Shifting Perceptions in a new format, and to bring together – online – a wider academic and public audience to celebrate and showcase the School’s thriving doctoral  research community.
