Biography

Tilda is a people-centred and process-led practitioner, who is driven by collaboration, social justice and joy. With a significant dance background, she went on to train professionally as an actor, and then work as a theatre-maker, actor, dancer, and facilitator. Tilda has worked in various contexts including in physical and dance theatre, and most notably with a pattern (and love) of making theatre for children and young audiences. She has been movement directing since 2018 and is passionate about collaborating to build vibrant choreography and physicality.

Tilda is a member of inclusive dance and drama group Chilli BON BON which, having joined aged 14, has been foundational in her embodied experience of structures that strive towards equity and self-advocacy, and foundational in her motivations to break down barriers to participation and belonging in the performance industry. Tilda is also an Associate Lecturer at Northampton University on the BA Acting degree, and a creative partner for Access All Areas Performance Making Diploma at RCSSD.

Ensemble Movement, Laban, Animal Transformation, Elements, Movement Fundamentals, Dance and Choreography (Ballet, Tap, Musical Theatre, Contemporary), Improvisation, 5 Rhythms, Devising Skills, Psychophysical Training, & Viewpoints are all in my toolkit. I also have broad awareness and understanding of many other methods, techniques and practices used in a variety of Actor Training contexts today. Other skills include: Stage Combat (APC Basics), Piano, Flute, Accordion (Basic), Singing (Grade 8), Juggling, recent Vulnerable Adults and Children DBS.
