Biography

Tamara was born in London and at an early age moved to Warsaw, Poland for the most part of her school life. Her love for movement has filtered though from an early age, from being a competitive swimmer throughout her teenage years, to gymnastics, dance and most other sports on a daily basis. On moving back to London 8 years ago for her BSC Music Production degree, she discovered a deep practice of yoga, finding a love for the synchronicity between movement and breath. This led her to want to follow her journey into movement, allowing her to explore the relationship between music and movement, through her dissertation in her undergraduate degree, Embodied Music Cognition, Bodily Response and Music and People.

On finishing university, she went on to do 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, where she has been able to explore movement teaching in a variety of ways.  Through teaching for the past 3 years, she has been developing her own practice and methodology, where she has discovered both fundamental and expressive ways in moving the body. By working with both individuals and small to large groups, she has been able to work both anatomically - alignment and understanding the individual needs - and mechanisms of strength and ability. Her teaching aims to build and enable people to explore and connect back into their bodies, and ability to feel through movement.

Currently studying on the MFA Movement: Directing and Teaching at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, she is part way through her next movement chapter. So far this has been challenging, eye-opening and a jump into a whole new world of movement, expanding her knowledge, practice and experience in theatre practice and performance.
