Biography

Amy Rushent (they/them) is a Movement Director, theatre-maker, and performer from the UK. After training as a performer at Fourth Monkey Actor Training Company, they set up Burning Pages Theatre Company to create movement-lead theatre that centres, amplifies and uplifts unheard voices and hidden stories. Their movement directing career has so far taken them to VAULTs Festival, Barons Court Theatre, and Camden People’s Theatre. As a queer and neurodivergent movement artist, their work centres on unravelling identity and autonomy  within movement; specifically developing pedagogical techniques to empower marginalised people within the actor-movement classroom. They are currently working on a new collaborate research group for movement practitioners in collaboration with Longfield Hall, Move Circle will launch Spring 2024.
