Lucie Shilton

BA, PGCert, FHEA
Job title
Lecturer, Costume Construction

Profile

I am a costume maker, pattern cutter and costume construction lecturer. I have worked at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama since 2008 and currently teach on the BA Costume Construction course across all three year groups.

As a pattern cutter and costume maker, currently working within the industry, I share my time between working on West End productions and operas, lecturing at Central and as an associate lecturer at the London College of Fashion.

In 2015 I completed a Post Graduate qualification in Academic Practice for Art, Design and Communication. I enjoy working with students, sharing my skills and supporting them in a creative way to explore their own interests and technical ability.

Selected costume-making credits include Les Misérables (Sondheim Theatre), & Juliet (Shaftesbury Theatre), Bat Out of Hell (Dominion Theatre), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Shakespeare’s Globe), Lost in Space (Netflix Originals), Iphigenie en Tauride (English Touring Opera) and multiple productions for Garsington Opera.
