Course Title
Voiceover Acting with Jane Perry
Join Jane Perry, BAFTA award-winning voice artist, as we explore the skills and techniques required for work as a voice actor. This course comprises sixteen 2.5-hour evening sessions on-site in Central’s rehearsal studios, plus an additional full-day final session at Central’s voiceover studio where we will apply what we have learned in a professionally-run recording session.
Course Outline:
This course will provide both theory and practical work. During the sixteen evening sessions we will cover:
- An overview of the many ways in which voice artists are employed.
- The skills required for different types of voice work, and how this may vary from other approaches to acting.
- How to identify one’s vocal print, helping participants identify the type of work and roles to which they are best suited.
- Practical experience focusing on commercials as well as character work for games and animation.
- Insight into the business of voice acting, including how to get an agent, choosing material and recording of demo reels, fees etc.
- Exercises and ideas for further development.

This course is suitable for artists who have previous training as actors or experience working in the field. Participants are required to have a foundational understanding of how to analyse the given circumstances of a scene, and the application of objectives, actions, obstacles and tactics.
Days | Various. The course consists of 16 sessions in total and is delivered twice a week for 8 weeks, with an additional full day session on Saturday 2 December 9am - 5pm. |

Age | The minimum age is 18 on the first day of the course. There is no upper age limit. |

Course Delivery | All of the Evening Courses take place onsite at our Swiss Cottage campus in London. |
International students | We welcome International Students to our courses, however please ensure you are on the correct visa. As our Evening Courses are classed as part-time, non-accredited short courses they are not eligible for a Tier 4 Student Visa however you may be eligible for a Short Term Study Visa. |
Language requirements | Applicants must be confident speaking and reading English to a conversational level (IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent). You may be expected to read texts/scripts that have advanced vocabulary. |
Attendance | Due to the structure and the collaborative nature of the courses, full attendance is requested. |
Refunds | We are able to offer a full refund up until 14 days before the course begins. After this, the course will become fully non-refundable. |
Cancellations | Central reserves the right to cancel this course if we do not meet the minimum number of participants. In this instance, a full refund will be made to you. We are unable to refund any other costs you may have incurred. |
