This practical course, for those with English as a second language, will introduce you to the key features of Standard English in order to improve your clarity.

During this three day practical course you will be introduced to key features of Standard English including vowels, consonants, rhythm and melody.

You will gain an increased awareness of your own accents and any shifts that you could make to improve your overall clarity of spoken English.

You should already have an excellent understanding of structure of English as this not a language learning course.

Course Detail

Dates: Monday 16th July 2018 - Wednesday 18th July 2018. 10:00 - 16:30 each day.

Minimum Age: 18 years

Note: Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. IELTS level 7 required. Applicants must be confident speaking English to a conversational level (ideally IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent).

Visas and Immigration: If you are not from an EU or EEA country or Switzerland, you will need to obtain a Visa prior to entry to the UK (if you are a visa national) or upon entry to the UK (if you are a non-visa national). It is each student's responsibility to have the right documentation for study when they arrive at Central.

Please note that you cannot enter the UK on a Visitor's Visa if your primary reason for travel is to study on this course. if you do not have a valid visa you will not be allowed to study at Central.
