Students arranged on a stage wearing all black during a dress rehearsal.

This summer, Central is excited to offer its broadest ever range of summer course offerings, with programmes suited to all levels of experience, and ranging in length from 3 days to 2 weeks.

Our summer short courses are open to all and are designed specifically for those looking to explore the performing arts for the first time, as well as theatre makers hoping to add new skills to their toolkits.

The following courses are now available to book:

Alongside our summer short courses, we’re also excited to launch our Artists Development Programme, an intensive programme aimed at early career theatre makers that includes training and mentorship from industry leaders – Katie Mitchell, Julia Pascal, Topher Campbell and working in conjunction with Talawa Theatre and Marlborough Productions.

Courses include:

Finally, Central is proud to once again work with partners including Frantic Assembly, as well as with The London Borough of Camden, Generation Arts and New Earth to host their free summer school offerings here at Central. You can find out more about these offerings by visiting the partner websites.

These Include:

  • Camden Summer University: Central is pleased to once again be working with The London Borough of Camden’s youth project, Camden Summer University. This summer, 14 - 18-year-olds across the borough will be involved with free activities including creating a play in a week and an introduction to performance design. Camden Summer University is Camden’s longest running youth project bringing together young people who live or study in Camden to experience activities and tasters from amazing organisations based in the borough. As well as Central, partnership organisations also include The British Museum, ZSL London Zoo and The British Library.

  • Generation Arts: For the first time since 2019, and following a pause due to the pandemic, Central is delighted to support outreach partners Generation Arts to bring back their three-week summer school, which allows young people from across the capital to experience a free taster of actor training.
