Central in Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the world’s largest arts festival, is back for 2021 with a hybrid of both in person and online shows and events, and Central is pleased to celebrate the involvement of its students, staff and alumni in this year’s festivities.

Each year, the Central community brings numerous productions to the Fringe; from new graduates fresh from their final year of study through to established theatre companies filled with Central alumni, the Fringe provides a useful testing ground for new writing, devised theatre, comedy, music and so much more.

The Central team have enjoyed many years of visiting the Fringe to help promote these productions, as well as the opportunity to meet with the wider Central community at the annual Central in Edinburgh Party and celebrate their many successes throughout the month of August.

As a result of the global Coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Festival was sadly cancelled.  Thankfully, this year’s hybrid delivery has enabled the Festival to once again take place and Central is excited to help spread the word about productions featuring at the Fringe this summer.

Please keep an eye on our social media channels or visit our dedicated Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2021 listing page where you can find out more information.  And if you’re a member of the Central community who is taking a show to Edinburgh this year, please get in touch with us at alumni@cssd.ac.uk and we will include your show in the listings.

Best of luck to everyone participating in this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe!  We’re excited to help you celebrate and hope to see you back at the Festival - in person - next year.
