MA Scenography

From Tuesday 23 June – Friday 26 June, Central’s MA Scenography students present their final work in the annual MA Scenography Exhibition.

The Exhibition provides students approaching the end of their course with an opportunity to showcase their work, across four days, to industry, family and friends.

Dr Simon Donger, Course Leader, MA Scenography & Lecturer, Performance Arts & Scenography, said:

“This exhibition is an important task on the course in as much as it is the last practical iteration of the students’ research and thus becomes central to the final submission of the portfolio.  It is therefore an experiment in itself, one that we are very proud to have successfully implemented again this year.  Through this exhibition, we have instigated new collaborative opportunities with other postgraduate courses outside of Central, as well.  The course team is extremely pleased with the quality of the works in the exhibition and their potential futures.  We wish much success to our soon-to-be 2015 graduates!”

Drawing from past and present approaches to performance design, the Scenography course is concerned with exploring dynamic and innovative interplay between the body, space and time, further informed by a variety of disciplines including sculpture, digital media, puppetry, choreography, film, architecture and sound.  Students are encouraged to extend, challenge and refine their practice by exploring new possibilities for performance design, experimentation and authorship.
