About Digital Dramaturgies 2021
This term the students have undertaken a variety of lectures and seminars about digital performance making online. This kind of performance making has seen an acceleration during the pandemic, with many artists thinking through how to make a connection with an audience in digital spaces, cultivating community and sharing performance through different digital mediums.
The students were challenged to make their own 4 minute digital performance objects along the theme of ‘something about now’. The unit has been curated by Dr. Amanda Stuart-Fisher and led by Anna Woolf, Jennifer Farmer and Chuck Blue-Lowry, with many brilliant guest lecturers along the way including Ella Parry-Davies introducing concepts around sound walks, Paula Varjack and Chuck sharing their online project i, Melania and Vanessa Macaulay thinking about avatars and race.
The students have worked hard in what has continued to be difficult times. We hope that you enjoy the performance sharing and invite you to share any feedback via the event Instagram account, @https.now.23.
*Please note: the sharing will contain some trigger warnings, warnings include strong language and themes around mental health and COVID-19.
