Overview
Stanley Yelnats has bad luck. When his bad luck unfairly lands him in the juvenile detention
centre Camp Green Lake, he and his campmates
are forced to dig holes in order to build character. But what are they really digging for…
A hilarious and powerful story about crime, punishment, redemption and holes. Lots and
lots of holes.
By agreement with Susan Schulman Literary Agency.
Due to a contained breakout of COVID-19 at Central this production was postponed. The recording took place outside of term-time which unfortunately meant that BA (Hons) Theatre Practice students could not continue their collaboration on the project. The final show is a pared back production with limited lighting and stage management facilitated by staff members Lars Davidson and Adam Burns.

COVID-19 Safety Information
Due to UK Government guidance surrounding the ongoing situation with COVID-19, all of Central’s productions are currently being planned, staged, designed, rehearsed, directed and performed as theatrical presentations, filmed for later streaming. This ensures that learning outcomes can be met whilst allowing for a wider distribution to industry partners and the audiences who engage with our work.
Social distancing of two metres is being observed onsite, including during rehearsals and performances, and face coverings are required at all times with the only exception being dress rehearsals, technical rehearsals and final performances.
For further information on Central’s COVID-19 policies and the steps that are being taken to keep our community safe, please visit our dedicated COVID-19 Information page.
