Writing Night: Something About Now

2nd and 3rd December 6.30pm – 8.30pm
A series of rehearsed readings and filmed pieces by students on the second year of Central’s BA Writing for Performance and BA Drama, Applied Theatre and Education courses, which form part of Central’s Contemporary Performance Practice programme. This term the students have been taking part in a series of playwriting workshops led by Ola Animashawun (Dramaturg, National Theatre), playwrights Judith Johnson and Jennifer Farmer and Central’s Dr Farokh Soltani and Dr Amanda Stuart Fisher. The work shared over the two nights explores both hard hitting and light-hearted themes in response to the subject matter ‘Something About Now’.

Work will be live streamed on Central’s YouTube channel each night, with audience members encouraged to give feedback to writers in the YouTube comments.

Digital Storytelling: Film 2020

8th December 6.00pm - 8.00pm
A series of short films by students on the second year of Central’s BA Drama, Applied Theatre and Education course which forms part of Central’s CPP programme. This term the students have been taking part in a series of film and editing workshops led by Anna Woolf, Jennifer Farmer with masterclasses by the film makers Campbell X, Chuck Lowry and Sophie Williams. In the screenings tonight they share 4 minute films they have created, exploring the following themes: The Conflict, Homesickness, The Outsider, Over Here: responding to my view of the world.
