DATE Presents: The Student Led Project
Event information
The Student Led Project is a festival of 9 performances over a two-week period, each devised and performed by a different company of 3rd year Drama and Applied Theatre Education (DATE), BA students.
Every weekday evening at 6.00pm from Tuesday 18 May to Friday 28 May, a 20-minute piece will be performed and streamed live to YouTube; with topics ranging from teenage mental health, to ‘dangerous’ women throughout history, to the ridiculousness of current tabloid headlines.
So please come and enjoy a festival of exploration and entertainment, live from the comfort of your own home!

Tuesday 18 May
Hunt Me Down by Empress Arts

During many ages there were witches. The Bible said so. The Bible commanded that they should not be allowed to live. Then it was discovered that there was no such thing as witches, and never had been. One does not know whether to laugh or to cry…..There are no witches. The witch text remains; only the practice has changed.

Woman Is, Woman Isn’t by Scrambled Eggs Theatre

‘Woman Is Woman Isn’t’ is a devised performance inspired by our experiences of womanhood. We are a scramble of women who live in London, but come from diverse backgrounds. Specifically our multicultural outlook is informed by Colombian, Bulgarian, St. Lucian and British cultures. The performance explores the differences and similarities between us. We play with stereotypes through dark humour.
