On the BA (Hons) Drama and Applied Theatre programme, you will:

BA Drama and Applied Theatre is a pioneering degree designed to train people who are passionate about the arts as a springboard for social change. This three-year degree programme inspires the next generation of critical practitioners, performance makers and educators wishing to be at the forefront of change that benefits individuals and communities.

You will become a highly adaptable theatre maker, with advanced skills in devising, performing, directing, writing, facilitating and producing. You will train at one of the leading specialist performing arts institutions in the world, building extensive industry networks through events, placements, and working on projects in the field.

Alongside making innovative and compelling performances, you will develop transferrable skills that will prepare you for work in diverse settings, while laying the foundation for further study in drama and performance. Inclusive practice underpins our curriculum, supporting and celebrating the diversity of our programme, school and wider communities in which you will work.

Working collaboratively, alongside artists and practitioners who bring the latest thinking in the fields of applied theatre and socially engaged practices, you will critically reflect on the ethics, politics, and significance of your work in a rapidly changing world. You will also gain exposure to the use of new technologies and drama in digital environments, and how this can be used in the field of applied theatre.
