Offers and Outcomes

Unconditional offers

If you receive an unconditional offer, this means that there are no academic conditions attached to your offer of a place, such as certain grades or qualifications.

Courses requiring a DBS check will still require this, and overseas students should note that visa requirements, such as English language conditions, still apply.

You will have an offer acceptance deadline noted in your offer, and it is recommended that you confirm as soon as possible that you intend to take up your offer of a place, otherwise it may be given to someone else.

Please note that payment of a deposit is required to secure your place – this will also be outlined in your offer.

Conditional offers

A conditional offer requires you to meet certain academic conditions in order for your offer of a place to be confirmed, such as certain grades or qualifications.

Other conditions, such as DBS checks and student visa requirements for overseas students also apply.

If you are yet to meet any of the conditions, you can still confirm that you intend to take up the place, and forward proof that you meet the conditions, such as qualifications and references at a later date.

Unsuccessful decision

Unsuccessful applicants will be notified via UCAS (for undergraduate courses) and via email (for postgraduate courses) of the outcome of their application.

Feedback on your audition or interview may be available on request for a select number of courses. If feedback is available available for your course, details of how to request this will be communicated to you at your audition/interview.

It is very common for applicants who are unsuccessful at audition or interview to reapply the following year. Many graduates who have gone on to have a significant impact on the creative and performing arts industries applied multiple times before receiving an offer of a place.

Reserve list

For a small number of courses, we may operate a reserve list. There are many reasons why a candidate might be placed on the reserve list, and for this reason it is not a simple ranking, so we are unable to advise on an applicant’s ‘position’ on the list. We do endeavour to stay in contact with these applicants as much as possible and will contact them directly should they be offered a place on the course.
