On Wednesday 12 February, Central was delighted to welcome back alumnus and Honorary Fellow Bette Bourne for a very special gala evening and film screening of the acclaimed documentary It Goes with the Shoes.

On 26 November, a group of Central Alumna performed alongside a line-up of some of the world’s biggest music starts including Jon Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift at the Winter Whites Gala. The Gala evening, held at Kensington Palace, raised funds for Centrepoint and its mission to end youth homelessness and build a brighter future for homeless young people.

On Monday 9 December, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama hosted its annual Graduation Ceremony at The Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre.  An impressive 360 graduands collected their degrees during the course of the afternoon ceremony as friends, family, and Central staff looked proudly on.

On Thursday, 21 November competition winners of the 2013 Linbury Prize for Stage Design were announced in a ceremony at the National Theatre.

On Tuesday 12 November, Central was delighted to win a 2013 Green Gown Award for collaborative work with Julie’s Bicycle on our sustainable pilot production of ‘Cabaret’.

On Wednesday 13 November, 2013 Central was visited by its Royal Patron, HRH Princess Alexandra. The visit marked the Princess’s first visit to the school since the opening of the refurbished Embassy Theatre in 2003, and Her Royal Highness was also in attendance at Central’s centenary celebrations at The Old Vic Theatre in 2006.

On Friday 18 October, 2013 a group of 2nd year BA (Hons) Acting Musical Theatre students perform alongside Alumna Silvia Baltodano at a gala dinner event to raise funds for a children’s charity.

The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama is pleased to announce that, with generous support from the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, Benjamin Holder has been appointed as the new Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical Director Fellow for the coming academic year.
