PROFILE

Mandy is a London based movement director and teacher.  Her enquiry into the relationship between text, impulse and movement began at 14 when she began to choreograph plays and poems.  She undertook a BA in Drama at Brunel University, whilst attending technique classes at Rambert Dance School.  To further develop her choreographic and devising skills, she attended The London Contemporary Dance School.  Her ensuing performative experiences and eclectic movement training, form the basis of her practice today.  She draws from contemporary dance, somatic practices including Yoga, Qui Gung, Massage, Feldenkrais, Alexander and Five Rythmns, mask work and athletics.  She has studied anatomy and physiology, health and fitness and continues to be inspired by the developments in neuroscience, physics and philosophy and it's application to the actors craft.

She contributes to productions and training courses involving professional actors and dancers, community actors, ex-offenders and young people. She combines her love for exploring the movement of people and the impact of society with dance, the abstract and the metaphor with her attention to detail, whether it be in the context of ensemble work or detailed character acting.

She is passionate about movement and fascinated by it's potential.
