Biography

Rebecca is a British Movement Director and Teacher with over 25 years professional experience working in the performing arts industry as an actress and dancer. Her movement heritage began with Ballet, Tap and Jazz from a young age to a professional level and then transitioned into movement as a more somatic healing journey,  leading her to become a 200 hour certified Yoga Instructor, Facilitator in Chakradance™, Inamojo™ and a YOGABODY® breath coach. 

Rebecca began her journey  as a Movement Coach while working as an assistant director on the musical ‘Saturday Night Fever’,  facilitating actor/musicians to connect to their bodies and move and dance freely with the choreography. In 2018, her movement directing debut was the short film ‘Christina’s World’ which became part of the official selection for the Cascadia Dance Film Festival in 2019 both in San Francisco and Washington DC and the short film ‘Moved’ which was selected for Phoenix Dance Film Festival and LA Shorts in 2020.

Rebecca has taught at prestigious drama schools in the UK, taught Shakespeare and Physical Theatre throughout America as part of the ‘Shakespeare For A New Generation’ program, and is part of the faculty team at the award-winning drama school ‘Identity School Of Acting’ in Los Angeles and London.

As an actress, notable London West End credits include: ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘The Mousetrap’, ‘Fame’, ‘Singin In The Rain’ & ‘Oh What A Night’  directed by Kim Gavin (Olympics 2012 London). New York & US Tours include: Aquila theatre’s productions of ‘Macbeth’, ‘Hamlet’, ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ and ‘Sense & Sensibility’. Various TV appearances such as Amy Barlow in BBC ‘Doctors’, PC Lewis in ITV ‘Emmerdale’ & Lenny Henry’s BBC Comedy Pilot ‘Rudy’s Rare Records’. International feature films include Constantin Films animation epic ‘Tarzan 3D’, award-winning children’s film ‘The Kids from 62-F’, and  ‘Buttons - A Christmas Story’ starring Dick Van Dyke and Angela Lansbury. Plus international recognition for the lead role of Kayleene in Sonny J’s music video ‘Handsfree’ directed by BAFTA-nominated Eran Creevy.

In 2022, Rebecca will have completed her MA in Movement Directing & Teaching from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama as well as her Intimacy Coordinator training with IDC Professionals.
