Profile

Shani trained at Central and has since worked as an actor, director and writer internationally and across the UK.

As performer, selected stage credits include the RSC, Southbank Centre, Southwark Playhouse, Minack Theatre and nationwide tours; screen credits include the BBC, Lionsgate and the CW.

Shani is an Associate Artist for BOLD Theatre, where she has been commissioned as a writer and director. She works both as a freelance director and through Loitering With Intent theatre company, which she founded. Selected directing credits include Old Red Lion, Leicester Square Theatre, New Tower Theatre, CPT, RWR at Theatre 503, Brighton Fringe Festival and Fleet Street theatre in Hamburg. She is a member of the Lincoln Center’s Director’s Lab.

Shani regularly does audio and voice work, including The Animals Podcast (theanimalspodcast.com), which she co-produced. In Israel, she worked as a radio broadcaster and journalist. Most recently, Shani was awarded the DYCP fund by Arts Council England, to further develop her writing.

At Central, Shani works regularly on the MA Acting course and sits on the audition panel.
