Profile

Sarah trained at Jacques Lecoq International School of Physical Theatre (Paris) and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (Collaborative and Devised Theatre BA Acting) and in Documentary Film Making at NFTS. She currently works as a director, maker and dramaturg focusing on the development of new work and adaptation for theatre and film.

Sarah works predominantly with devised, collaborative, interdisciplinary and movement-based processes and has collaborated with a range of companies in the UK and internationally including; Fevered Sleep, Blind Summit, OffStage, FastFamiliar, Made in China, Fabulous Beast, National Theatre (and Studio), Yard Theatre and The Old Vic. She is Associate Artist with Tangled Feet and Moving Dust. She is currently working with Lille based company L’Ouvrier du Drame on a new historical adaptation for stage.

Sarah is founder and Artistic Director of Flight of the Escales with whom she directs and produces original work for theatre and film. She is currently developing two new works with the company: Tamed and Tamed Virtual Chorus.

Sarah was a recipient of an EUStep grant to research Multi-lingual Collaborations and Adapting work for International Audiences. She was winner of 100Grad Jury Prize (Berlin) for her solo work I Gave him an Orchid. Twelve Miles from Nowhere (a collaborative writing project) was shortlisted for a Writers Guild Award. She co-devised and was part of the original cast for the multi-award winning The Table (Blind Summit). She was recently funded by Arts Council England to research and set-up The Alternative New Writers Network.

She is a member of the International Dramaturgs Network and The Young Vic Directors Programme.
