Profile

Formerly an actress, Kate has been working with voice and text for over 25 years. She is passionate about unlocking every individual’s confidence and ability to speak freely, clearly and spontaneously. With a holistic approach to voice, Kate has worked with worked with actors, radio and TV presenters to enable them to develop vocal flexibility, range, strength, clarity and control. She has a special interest in working with both classic and modern texts to help actors breathe life into the written word and embody characters truthfully and skilfully. She works holistically, integrating psycho-physical aspects of body, voice, character, speech and text, to help actors tackle and overcome the challenges of the rehearsal process.

Kate was Head of Voice at The Institute of the Arts Barcelona, and now teaches at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She has also taught at the Royal Welsh College, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Oxford School of Drama and was a voice and text lecturer on the MA in Shakespeare for Performance at Bath Spa University.
