Following the closure of the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in 2005, Central has been proud to offer Webber Douglas graduates a place in Central’s alumni community.
The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art was founded in London in 1926. Central’s connection with the prestigious school began in 2003 when the discontinuation of the DADA scheme for students in Further Education colleges coincided with the impending retirement of Webber Principal Raphael Jago. Meetings were held to discuss how best to provide on-going training for continuing Webber Douglas students and, as a result, in the summer of 2005 around 60 Webber students were transferred to continue at Central.
In 2009, in celebration of the Webber/Central connection, the former Embassy Studio at Central was renamed the Webber Douglas Studio Theatre and provided a dedicated space which honoured the connection within Central’s walls.
Central's summer term calendar has just been published, as Webber Douglas’ alumni are integral members of the Central Community, we would be delighted to keep you regularly informed of news from Central, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name, email address and course name (including year of completion), so that we can register you with our Alumni Association and send you a copy of the Calendar.
We also invite you to stay in touch by emailing us regularly, updating us on your career news and successes since graduating from Webber Douglas, which we can then celebrate by sharing with the rest of the Central Community.
We warmly invite all graduates of the Webber Douglas Academy to join the Central alumni community. Please do get in touch.
