From 4 – 5 May 2023, Central was delighted to share and celebrate the work and accomplishments of final year Design, Production and Crafts graduating students of the BA (Hons) Theatre Practice programme in the BA (Hons) Theatre Practice Exhibition 2023.

Across five curated spaces, members of the public and industry representatives were able to appreciate the variety of graduating students’ work across ten courses of the Theatre Practice programme.

Introducing the exhibition, Dr Kathrine Sandys, Head of Theatre Practice, said:

“This exhibition of work from our graduating year of BA (Hons) Theatre Practice, showcases their accomplishments through images, sounds, artefacts, digital presentations, and process work. The work is the product of three years of study and practice within live and digital learning environments.”

Work from students on different courses were separated into spaces around Central:

The achievements of this cohort are especially noteworthy, as they navigated their first two years of study whilst the country was under COVID-19 restrictions. Commenting on their resilience and skill, Dr Sandys noted:

“Our students rose to the challenge and have achieved some extraordinary work, despite, and because of, the challenges they faced. This ingenuity and determination form the foundation of skills they will take through their entire professional career.”

Josette Bushell-Mingo OBE, Central’s Principal and CEO, congratulated the students on their creative work achievements:

“The imagination and skill of the students, the quality of the teaching, and the opportunities that Central provides, means that all those who have contributed to this exhibition have been able to offer an arts ecology fuelled by hope.”
