Students performing on stage

Central is excited to announce the launch of series two of its Discover Central Podcast. Hosted by Scott Bellamy, the podcast takes an inside look at Central and introduces listeners to members of the School’s student, staff and alumni community.

The first series launched in July and focused on work and projects that were being undertaken in response to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Series two has been launched to coincide with the start of a new academic year.  Over the next six episodes, it will focus on innovative research projects, new teaching methods being pioneered by the School’s academics, exploring projects focusing on environmental sustainability, and catching up with Central alumni in the industry.

For Season 2, Episode 1, Scott sat down with Central’s Dr Javeria Shah (Central’s Inclusion Specialist, Programme Leader for the Learning Centre, Lecturer on the MA Acting for Screen course and the Founding Chair of the School‘s Global Majority Staff Network) and her research collaborator from Leeds Beckett University Dr Shona Hunter to discuss their work and their programme of events, Black History Interruptions.

Central’s Student Union Black and Minority Ethnic Officer Monica Beckles-Strachan also features.

You can listen to the first episode on our dedicated Discover Central page or wherever you normally listen to podcasts.  While you’re there, be sure to subscribe so that you don’t miss any of our future episodes.
