    Interviews

To express your interest in the CAST Diploma, please complete a Register of Interest form. A member of the team will then be in touch with the next steps. Please note, the CAST Diploma usually runs every other year.

  • What to prepare

Acting and Gap Year Diploma - You will need to prepare a two-minute contemporary monologue (from the last 30 years). Please note that the monologue should be from a published play and not a film or TV show.

Musical Theatre Diploma - You will need to prepare a two minute contemporary monologue (from the last 30 years). Please note that the monologue should be from a published play and not a film or TV show. Please also bring the sheet music for two contrasting musical theatre songs, one up-tempo and one ballad. Please choose material that you can connect with to display the emotion and truth in your acting through song. The songs may be cut down and we may only need to hear a small section of one of the prepared songs which we will choose at your audition.

Online Acting Diploma - Please visit our Audition Guidance page for full details.

  • How to accept your place

If you are successful in auditioning you will be emailed a formal offer letter and asked to complete our online application form (a link will be sent to you).

You will also need to send us confirmation of acceptance and a 25% deposit in order to guarantee your place on the course. If we do not receive confirmation and deposit within 10 working days, we may offer your place to the next applicant on the list.

Once you have signed up for a course you cannot defer your place. Please, therefore, ensure that you are able to complete a course before accepting your place.

  • How to make payment

The full fee must be paid before the start of the course. We ask that each successful applicant confirm their place by paying a 25% deposit within 10 working days of receiving the offer. This deposit is non-refundable after the first 14 days from payment.

In exceptional circumstances, we can offer a scheduled payment plan. To apply you will need to send a written explanation to short.courses@cssd.ac.uk as to why this could be applicable to you.
