Learning, Teaching and Student Experience Committee

The Learning, Teaching and Student Experience Committee (LTSE) is the teaching, learning and quality assurance committee for the School.

Responsibilities include:

  • To recommend changes to existing courses as defined by the Quality Assurance and Enhancement Handbook, to Academic Board for approval, including:
    • unit structures, titles, learning outcomes, credit values 
    • major change in learning and teaching methods
    • admission requirements and assessment weightings
  • To monitor the learning opportunities offered by courses, through annual course monitoring reports, external examiner comments and the outcomes of student surveys.
  • To monitor widening participation activity as set out in Central’s Access and Participation Plan.  
  • To consider new course developments (including short courses)  and make recommendations to the Academic Board. 
  • To nominate external examiners and consider reports from external examiners. 
  • To consider proposed amendments of academic regulations
  • To monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of strategies for learning, teaching and assessment, and to advise the Associate Principal and others on the continued development, articulation or dissemination of those strategies.  
  • To make recommendations to the Academic Board and to the Executive Management Group in relation to School-wide enhancement activities, including staff development priorities in the area of learning, teaching and assessment.
