On 26 and 27 November 2015, Musical Theatre students from Central returned once more to Derby for their fourth annual residency at The Guildhall Theatre and with their touring production of ‘Pentecost’.  Alongside the productions, Central ran a series of targeted workshops with area students, offered Q&A sessions about the process of applying for drama school, visited local colleges to discuss the benefits of further study and, more generally, showcased the breadth of degrees and careers on offer in the arts. 

The Leverhulme Trust Awards Central £195,150 in Support of its Internationally Recognised Applied Theatre Work

On Monday 7 December, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama hosted its annual Graduation Ceremony at The Royal Festival Hall.  Alongside a class of highly promising new graduates, Central awarded Honorary Fellowship to three extraordinary members of the industry: David Jubb, Rebecca Lenkiewicz and Barbara Windsor.

During the week of 16 November, members of Central’s Academic staff will take part in a series of events for Parliament Week.

Central is pleased to announce that Dr Simon Donger has been nominated for a Golden Mask Award for his lighting and projection work on "Hero of our Time" at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.

Central alumna Cathy Englade (MA Applied Theatre, 2012), along with Dr Selina Busby (MA Applied Theatre Course Leader), current students Qita Iseley and Rachel Hunter (both BA Drama, Applied Theatre & Education, 2015) and a New York based production team, are developing the second phases of The Crossing Bridges Project in partnership with Central and Covenant House International, an NGO that shelters and aides more than 55,000 homeless and trafficked youth annually throughout six countries.

On Thursday 23 July, MA Advanced Theatre Practice is delighted to host Improbable in part of their Devoted & Disgruntled programme of Open Spaces: ‘The International Institute of Improvisation – What Could it Be and What Should it Do?’.

On 30 May 2015 Sarah McBriar, an alumna of the MA Creative Producing course at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and the first recipient of the Commercial Education Trust’s Entrepreneur’s Award, produced the acclaimed AVA Festival in Belfast.
