I trained in Musical Theatre at the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama. Upon graduation, I started working short term dance contracts in Japan, Morocco, South Africa as well as numerous European countries. I moved from the stage into health and fitness, completing Dance Exercise to Music and Gym Instructor Certifications.

Building upon previous skills in a way that combined getting fit at the gym with fun and rhythm I introduced Aero Jazz, which proved to be extremely popular. Further qualifications in health and fitness provided great benefit in understanding how the body works and moves, which muscles, and ligaments are important when doing specific routines.

Taking these ideas to other countries; in Saudi Arabia and The United Arab Emirates, I worked closely with groups and individuals, provided motivational and self-awareness through activity, as well as games encouraging social interaction and movement. From the UAE, I travelled to Australia and New Zealand, after which I lived with my family in Russia, Malaysia, Uganda and Spain before finally returning to London at the end of 2014. During this time, I appeared in, and assisted in the production of several dramatic performances, primarily involving choreography and movement on stage of children and adults.

I also qualified in Ashtanga, Sivananda (Hatha), Manasa Yoga as well as Teaching Yoga for Kids.

With the birth of my son in 2003 I have had the opportunity of observing a child growing up, learning to crawl then walk, through to his mastery of skills requiring high degrees of coordination, such as long boarding and dance. This has shown me many aspects of movement and given me an understanding of the uniqueness of the human body. As a mature student, I am as eager as ever to learn new ideas and continually improve my movement practice.

I hope to take my experiences in Dance, Theatre, Health / Fitness and Yoga, combine them with my studies (MA Movement: Directing and Teaching) and build upon these. In doing so I hope to offer practice built on self-control, discipline and self-awareness.
