Profile

David is an actor, writer and theatre producer. He trained on the BA Acting course at Central School of Speech and Drama (achieving 1st Class Hons), after attending Cambridge University. While at Central he was a nominee for the BBC’s Carleton Hobbs Award and was chosen to represent Central at Shakespeare’s Globe, playing Hamlet as part of the Sam Wanamaker Festival.

Since graduating, David has worked variously in theatre, radio and film, with credits including: Reluctant Persuaders (BBC Radio 4); The Captain Of Kopenick (Edinburgh Festival); Tiger Country (Hampstead Theatre); As You Like It (The Lord Chamberlain’s Men); Messiah (Dalston Bunker); The Blue Bird (UK tour); Orion and the Dark (UK tour); The Man Who (Albany); Othello (Chelsea Theatre); The Tempest, Much Ado About Nothing (Drayton Theatre).

David is also the co-artistic director of GOLEM! Theatre Company, which specialises in repurposing and reimagining classic texts into bold and irreverent new work that seeks to challenge and stretch the expectation of theatrical architecture, text, characters and narrative. For GOLEM! David has written, produced and acted in: I Know You Of Old (Royal Shakespeare Company’s Dell, Hope Theatre, Katzpace); Tomorrow Creeps (Vault Festival); Macbeths (Hope Theatre, Catford Broadway Theatre). Their next project, Is He Earnest?, tackles the life and works of Oscar Wilde and is currently being developed in conjunction with the Clapham Omnibus Theatre.
