This one-week course explores the techniques that an actor uses to decode a text. Using both script analysis and physical exploration, you will explore language, form, and character in order to strengthen a performance.
Working with a range of texts from the 20th and 21st Century, you will explore practitioners such as Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov and Katie Mitchell.
You will also work both through the voice and using movement with specialist tutors from Central.
Dates: Monday 9th July 2018 - Friday 13th July 2018. 10:00 - 16:30 each day.
Minimum Age: 18 years
Note: Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants must be confident speaking English to a conversational level (ideally IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent)
Visas and Immigration: If you are not from an EU or EEA country or Switzerland, you will need to obtain a Visa prior to entry to the UK (if you are a visa national) or upon entry to the UK (if you are a non-visa national). It is each student's responsibility to have the right documentation for study when they arrive at Central.
Please note that you cannot enter the UK on a Visitor's Visa if your primary reason for travel is to study on this course. if you do not have a valid visa you will not be allowed to study at Central.
