Course Overview

The course will enable you to gain the skills to read the acting signals that Shakespeare built into his plays and show you how to make interpretative choices. It is advised that you take Acting - An Introduction prior to this course unless you have prior acting training.

Through practical workshops and rehearsals you will discover how to bring heightened language to life in performance. You will explore Shakespeare’s characters, language and rhythms, rehearsing and presenting a Shakespearean monologue and duologue.  On completion of the course, you may want to consider applying for another specialist short course, such as Voice for Performance - An Introduction, or Central’s Acting - Classical, MA or Acting - Contemporary, MA.
