Movement Experience (whilst on the MA Movement)

Teaching on the BA CDT year 2 with mentor Imogen Knight: Working with Imogen Knight my placement involved advising and guiding the students in their development of recreating iconic Vaudeville acts. I led warm-ups, incorporating joint mobilisation and core strength, leading to improvisation exploring the anatomical and movement capabilities of the spine.

One on one work for BA Theatre Practice - Puppetry strand: Focusing on developing upper body and core strength, through specific Pilates exercises, with the intention of offering support and body awareness whilst she is performing.

Currently on placement with National Youth Theatre – Playing Up Pathway. Throughout this project I will be devising and movement directing, along with the cast on a new play specifically written for them. This performance project will be developed over a 3 week rehearsal period, with the final performance at Arcola theatre.

As part of my Pilates mat work training, I am proficient in anatomical knowledge and I have an understanding of the functional capabilities of the body. Through application, movement possibilities of the body can be developed and built on through the Pilates technique.

I am trained in various contemporary dance technique styles, including: Graham, Cunningham, Release, Skinner, Improvisation and Contact Improvisation.

This duet was created using sibling relationship as its stimulus, journeying through various aspects, and using past experiences of the dancers to create a unique movement vocabulary.

inside – 2006 performed as part of Resolution! This duet began as research into performance art and the exposure of the human body in its vulnerable state. It matured into a piece that delved into deep seeded emotions specifically paranoia and fear, and how we physicalize emotions that are commonly suppressed.
