Pivot Club

Our Pivot Club members are a wonderful group of individuals who all share a passion for theatre and who show their commitment for its future by supporting Central.

Pivot Club

Members of the Pivot Club play an important part in ensuring that The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama maintains its position as one of the leading university conservatoires in Europe.

Pivot Club members become part of the life of Central and make an invaluable contribution to the future of the performing arts by supporting the rising stars of the theatre, film and television, and performance industries in the UK and beyond.

By joining this group of passionate supporters you will become closer to our work and benefit from opportunities to witness the impact of your support first-hand with a range of opportunities to visit the School.

PIVOT CLUB HISTORY

The Pivot Club was first launched in the early 1900s with the aim of raising money to support talented students without financial means. Central’s founder, Elsie Fogerty, was its first President and early members, including Central alumni Sir Laurence Olivier and Dame Peggy Ashcroft, ‘pivoted’ around her.

The original Club was disbanded at the outbreak of World War II but in 2011, in light of major changes in government funding, it was relaunched to continue with its mission.
