Unblocking The Actors' Body

Course Title

Unlocking the Actors’ Body

Many actors have a natural way with words. We live in an environment where we use words - written, spoken, sung, heard - all the time and we are naturally highly experienced in their usage. We also use our bodies all the time, but a traditional bias towards the language of words has often nudged the language of the body out of theatre and film into other genres like physical theatre, dance, and performance art.

Stanislavski, the ‘Darwin of acting’, spent his life exploring ways for performers to equally balance body and word, and some of his most exciting late discoveries are still relatively unknown in the UK.
