Our Remote Leadership Skills courses have been designed to help navigate the new challenges and opportunities that arise from remote working and communication. 

Each course is led by an experienced Voice and Communication Coach and offers practical exercises and facilitated discussions.

There are 5 different courses that make up Remote Leadership Skills. Take a look at the course outlines below. 

  • Meeting Management for Video Conferencing

    As more businesses adapt to working remotely, meetings via video conference pose a new dimension to leadership and management.

    Whilst many of the key objectives and elements of leadership are the same when leading remotely, how these effects are achieved will be different. This one-hour course is designed to give you an understanding of how to plan and deliver effective meetings via video conferencing. 

    Through practical exercises and facilitated discussions you will practice techniques to:

    • Begin, outline, facilitate and conclude meetings effectively
    • Engage and encourage interaction whilst maintaining control of the agenda
    • Ensure participants feel heard and take away action points

    After this course you will have the confidence to navigate remote meetings and increase the engagement and productivity of your team. 

  • Improving Listening and Empathy

    Leading a meeting and/or team remotely presents an additional challenge to connecting with your team and managing them effectively.

    As usual channels of communication are reduced, it is important to increase the intensity of your listening, understand the emotional cues in what your team is saying and display greater empathy in your responses. This one-hour course is designed to refine your listening skills and help build strong connections with your team in remote meetings.

    Through practical exercises and facilitated discussions you will practice techniques to:

    • Actively listen to what is being said and understand emotional cues
    • Ensure your team feels valued and engaged
    • Improve clarity and impact of your communication

    After this course you will improve your ability to connect and communicate clearly with colleagues when working remotely. 

  • Improving Vocal Technique

    When leading teams remotely it is important to be aware of the impression your voice conveys.

    Using simple vocal techniques can increase the impact of your words, ensure key messages land and demonstrate authority and engagement. This one-hour course is designed to improve your understanding of how to best use your voice to suit your needs when leading meetings and teams remotely. 

    Through practical exercises and facilitated discussions you will practice techniques to:

    • Develop your understanding of the ‘voice of leadership’
    • Use pitch, pause and modulation to improve clarity and command
    • Convery authority and confidence without sounding authoritarian or detached 

    After this course you will have improved understanding of how to use your voice to lead effectively when working remotely. 

  • Improving Visual Communication

    Building awareness of your visual communication is key when leading a meeting and/or team via video conferencing. 

    Non-verbal signals, such as your posture or gestures, are amplified on screen when on video call.

    This one-hour course is designed to help you adapt your visual communication for video conferencing, to ensure you are perceived as present and in control. 

    Through practical exercises and facilitated discussions you will practice techniques to:

    • Build awareness of non-verbal communication
    • Understand how to use gesture and physical presence to enhance your communication
    • Ensure you are perceived as present and in control

    After this course you will have improved understanding of how to use visual communication effectively when working remotely.

  • Flexing your Leadership Style

    Understanding your leadership style and how you can adapt it to suit different situations is key to maintaing good relationships when working remotely. 

    A flexible communication style will help you to create more productive interactions, build trust and inspire confidence with your team. In this one-hour course you will explore the principles of good leadership, identify your own preferences and understand how to adapt these when working remotely. 

    Through practical exercises and facilitated discussion you will practice techniques to:

    • Build awareness of your communication style and how this is received by others
    • Feel calm and in control in different situations
    • Learn tips on how to flex your style for better outcomes

    After this course you will have the confidence to communicate effectively with all members of your team.
