Central is delighted to announce the launch of its brand-new podcast, Discover Central

With so many of us still studying and working remotely due to the global Coronavirus crisis, we’re excited to launch Discover Central as a way to connect our students, staff and alumni with each other wherever they might be in the world.

Through a series of discussions with our community, we’ll be taking a closer look at Central: answering questions, finding out what it’s like to work and study with us, catching up with our alumni in the industry, and hearing more about the new and innovative projects that are being worked on at the moment.

On our first Discover Central Podcast episode, host Scott Bellamy talks with Dr Nicola Abraham and Dr Selina Busby about the innovative work they are undertaking, together with Central students, to support the wider community both in the UK and globally during COVID-19 lockdown.

Central students Darius Gervinskas and Moneka Prato also talk about projects they’ve been working on which are making a difference in the lives of isolated, at risk and sheltering individuals as well as to support front line workers in the NHS.

Find out more information about Dr Abraham’s work with the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, read about projects being undertaken with the staff and patients on Auchi Ward and listen to the immersive radio drama which was created at the start of lockdown

Read more about the Coronavirus Time Capsule by visiting Company Three’s website, and learn more about Dr Busby’s work in lockdown using Applied Theatre with students and colleagues around the world by visiting the International Applied Theatre Project website.

In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Central’s staff, students and alumni have spearheaded a number of initiatives to make a difference.  We’re immensely proud to be able to highlight some of this work.

Subscribe to Discover Central wherever you listen to podcasts and you’ll be updated when new episodes are published. Join us next week for Episode 2!
