Central is pleased to announce that its Board of Governors has approved a new Strategic Plan for the School, setting an ambitious and exciting direction of travel through 2023.

The Strategic Plan was developed following extensive consultation with Central’s students, staff, alumni and other key stakeholders, and will be taken forward from the 2021/22 academic year by Central’s Incoming Principal, Josette Bushell-Mingo

Of the plan, Incoming Principal Josette Bushell-Mingo said:

“Our Strategic Plan is a bold map for Central as a place to grow, to return to and to be inspired. It highlights our unique position in performance training, creative technologies, research and knowledge exchange, international and outreach partnerships and industry collaborations, working everyday with the arts for agency, political change and inclusion.

Central’s Strategic Plan is also led by examining who we are, re-evaluating what our work means under COVID times, and being challenged by our own values: equity, inclusion, diversity, sustainability, with an intersectional perspective, and a belief in the human right of the arts to change our lives and the world we live in.

Our Strategic Plan is a living document to act as a guide. Together we can achieve it. I look forward to the journey ahead.”

Interim Principal Professor George Caird said:

“Last week, Central’s Board of Governors approved the School’s new Strategic Plan 2021 - 2023. With many thanks to our staff, students, Governors, stakeholders and all those who contributed to the consultation process, this 2-year strategy sets out a blueprint for change and development as we welcome our new Principal, Josette Bushell-Mingo. It is intended as a basis which can be invested in and built upon in the years ahead, and we hope that further developments will flow from this under our new leadership.”
