Evening Standard Awards 2019

The shortlist for the 65th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards, celebrating outstanding achievements from the London stage over the last twelve months, has been unveiled and we’re delighted to celebrate news that alumna Cecilia Noble has been nominated for the Natasha Richardson Award for Best Actress!

Cecilia’s nomination is in recognition of her exceptional performances in two of this year’s new productions at The National Theatre; Faith Hope and Charity and Downstate

Downstate, which included sound design from Carolyn Downing, has also been nominated in the category of Best Play alongside both ear for eye, which included performance from Shaniqua Okwok and Demetri Goritsas, and Glass. Kill. Bluebeard. Imp., which included lighting design from Jack Knowles. Also nominated, both in the category of Best Musical are Sweet Charity, which included video design from Finn Ross, and Fiddler on the Roof, which was produced by Sonia Friedman.

The awards ceremony will be presented by alumna Cush Jumbo and will take place at the London Coliseum on 24 November. We wish Cecilia and all of our graduates who worked on this year’s shortlisted productions the very best of luck!
