The Brink Festival return to The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama

Performance Practice as Research

Wednesday, 18 June 2014

From 27 June - 7 July, Central's MA Performance Practices and Research students are pleased to present The Brink Festival.

Brink is the showcasing of 7 emerging performance makers from diverse cultural and artistic backgrounds. From Santiago to Šiauliai, London to Lincoln, Beijing to Blyth – Brink is a hot pot of forward thinking, research-based performance practice. Musicality of language, transparency of gender, poetics of human fragility, trace and individual as commodity are just some of the ideas at play. Brink Festival 2014 hopes to offer contemporary audiences new possibilities of experiencing performance from sharply different angles.

This festival is FREE. To view the full programme of events and for more information about booking your ticket, please visit the Festival's Website. Or, follow the festival on Twitter @BrinkFestival for the latest news and updates about Brink.

As an addition to the festival, Central will host an exclusive evening event on Tuesday 1 July to allow members of the public to find out more about its highly respected MA Performance Practices and Research course.  An introduction from course leader Experience Bryon will be followed by forward thinking, research-based performance practice in a showcase of emerging performance at Brink Festival 2014 - performed by MA Performance, Practices and Research students. This special event will be held from 5:00-9:00 and is also free, but booking is essential.  To attend, please book a place.
