Salary, Grade 6: £39,985 pro rata per annum, including London Weighting
A very exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to lead the Counselling Service within Central, a higher education provider specialising in the performing arts. You will be based in a campus that has a creative buzz, an ethos of discovery and a culturally diverse student body.
The role will join the Student Centre team which provides students with a range of support services: disability, dyslexia and accommodation support, money advice and counselling. As the Counselling Service Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of a short-term counselling service for students and be the institutional lead in matters of student mental health and wellbeing.
You will have a varied portfolio, dividing your time between the provision of one-to-one student counselling, supervision, recruitment of other contracted and trainee counsellors and School-wide management responsibilities of the post.
Applicants will have a counselling qualification and experience to a level eligible for BACP/AUCC accreditation. Experience of or an interest in the particular needs of students in a small and specialist theatre arts institution is important.
Central values, embraces and is dedicated to equity, diversity and inclusion. Our mission is contingent on a diverse and inclusive student and staff body, bringing richness, knowledge, innovation, new understandings and skills. We especially welcome people to apply from backgrounds historically underrepresented in the drama Conservatoire and Higher Education sector, and who are committed to building and sustaining a diverse, inclusive and equitable environment and industry.
Closing date for receipt of application forms is 9am 01 July 2019.
It is anticipated that interviews and assessments will take place on 22 July 2019.
