Event information

Illustration in black, white and pink of two women in Regency era dress sitting on a bench, one is whispering to the other, against a warped checkerboard background.

By David Merriman

Performed by MA Music Theatre

The legendary novels of Jane Austen have not only received innumerable stage and screen adaptations: her work has given rise to an entire cultural industry, fueled by the enduring popularity of her stories of love, family, fortune and society in the Regency Era. The Awakening of Cheerful Feelings Upon the Arrival of Single Men (of large fortune) takes the text of her novel Pride and Prejudice as the starting point for a kaleidoscopic, musical retelling of the tale of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy - one which takes an expansive look at all things Austenesque…

This production contains flashing lights.
