Overview

Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik’s multi-award winning musical combines an electrifying
rock score with the strict world of 19th century Germany in this tale of the adolescent
journey from innocence to experience.

In this highly religious small town, the teenagers want to understand their changing
bodies and urges, but the adults want to keep them innocent to the complexities of life.

A world where the teenagers are kept isolated from one another.

A world where shame leads to confusion and tragedy.

A world where all the teenagers want to do is reach out and touch.

This amateur production is presented & streamed by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe).
All authorised performance materials are also supplied by MTI Europe www.mtishows.co.uk

COVID-19 Safety information

Due to UK Government guidance surrounding the ongoing situation with COVID-19, all of Central’s productions are currently being planned, staged, designed, rehearsed, directed and performed as theatrical presentations, filmed for later streaming. This ensures that learning outcomes can be met whilst allowing for a wider distribution to industry partners and the audiences who engage with our work.

Social distancing of two metres is being observed onsite and face coverings are required at all times except for in dress rehearsals, technical rehearsals and final performances as risk assessed; as well as medical exemptions, to facilitate communication (such as lip-reading) and where it may impact on the quality of teaching and learning.

For further information on Central’s COVID-19 policies and the steps that are being taken to keep our community safe, please visit our dedicated COVID-19 Information page.
