Overview
Colossal, a new play written by Andrew Hinderaker, tells the story of a star football player at the U of Texas, son of a modern dancer. Described as the Anti-Billy Elliott, Colossal expresses masculinity through emotional and physical journeys of the performers by integrating the languages of football, disabilities, and dance.

COVID-19 Safety information
Due to UK Government guidance surrounding the ongoing situation with COVID-19, all of Central’s productions are currently being planned, staged, designed, rehearsed, directed and performed as theatrical presentations, filmed for later streaming. This ensures that learning outcomes can be met whilst allowing for a wider distribution to industry partners and the audiences who engage with our work.
Social distancing of two metres is being observed onsite and face coverings are required at all times except for in dress rehearsals, technical rehearsals and final performances as risk assessed; as well as medical exemptions, to facilitate communication (such as lip-reading) and where it may impact on the quality of teaching and learning.
For further information on Central’s COVID-19 policies and the steps that are being taken to keep our community safe, please visit our dedicated COVID-19 Information page.
