Evening Courses | The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama

Our evening courses are practical short courses in acting and associated industry skills. 

Who are the courses for?

  • Anyone over 18, regardless of prior experience or training.
  • People who are new to acting.
  • Actors who want to nurture their skills.

How will the courses benefit you?

  • Improved confidence.
  • Improved communication skills.
  • Improved performance skills.

Who will teach you?

  • Experienced industry professionals – actors, directors and voice coaches.

How does it work?

  • Most courses last eight weeks, with classes Monday and Wednesday, 7-9:30pm.
  • Courses are open access – no audition required.
  • Places are booked on a first come first served basis.
  • Classes are held in rehearsal rooms at Royal Central's main campus in Swiss Cottage, London.
  • Class sizes are small – maximum 20 for Acting: An Introduction and 16 for most other courses.

  • Spring term dates are on sale and booking fast! Courses can be booked online via the relevant course page. 
  • We have introduced one-off taster 'Discover Central' workshops in Acting and Voice. 
  • New teaching days added – some courses now also run on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • New weekly course added -  Playwriting - Intermediate, running once a week.
  • Former Directing Evening Course students accepted on Central's MA Applied Theatre and BA Drama, Applied Theatre and Writing for Performance programmes.
