Course Title

Pattern Cutting: An Introduction (online)

This online course will introduce and teach the fundamental skills for womenswear pattern cutting.

Focusing on the development of a standard size 12 pattern, you will be guided through various techniques, which will enable you to draft a womenswear bodice and sleeve.

As you move through the course, you will learn how to alter your pattern into a variety of popular styles by moving the position of the darts and transforming the bodice into panels.

This 4-week course will be taught through a series of online seminars, pre-recorded tutorials and independent tasks. There will be time allocated each week to meet virtually, share your experience and discuss technical questions with the tutor.

This course is ideally suited to those who have experimented with ready made dress patterns and want to explore making their own. To fully participate in the course, a basic knowledge of sewing and maths is required.
