Course Overview

You will be introduced to theoretical knowledge and essential practical skills needed for a career as a theatre director.

Through practical workshops, working with other short course students (e.g. Acting – Text 1 and/or Acting - Shakespeare), group sharing and critiquing you will explore:

  • how the actor’s process works
  • ways to realise text in performance
  • critical analysis of the work of other directors
  • developing, planning and delivering your own directing exercise.

After this course you may want to consider applying for Central’s MA Advanced Theatre Practice, or MA Actor Training and Coaching.

Course Detail

Times: This course takes place over one term on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7.00pm - 9.30pm. Please note places are given on a first come first served basis, we therefore advise applying early to avoid disappointment.

General: Applicants must be confident speaking English to a conversational level (ideally IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent).

Age: Minimum age is 18+.

Attendance: Due to the structure of the courses, full attendance is required.

(School Closed for Bank holidays Monday 7th and 28th May)

2. You will then receive an automated email with confirmation of application and your Student ID number.

3. Please then call the office on 0207 559 3960 quoting your Student ID number to make payment of the course fee. Our phone line is open from 9am - 4.30pm,  Monday to Friday.
