Course Overview

In order to participate in this course, you will have usually completed Acting - Text 1, or have some equivalent training. It is also advised that you have undertaken Acting - An Introduction unless you have substantial prior experience.

You will, through scene study and rehearsal, explore a variety of texts taken from a range of periods and genres in order to deepen your understanding of the demands of different styles. Building on the work done in Acting - Text 1, you will develop the ability to analyse the action of the play and progression of the character and translate this into effective performance choices.  You will be expected to prepare tasks outside class hours in order to maximise rehearsal time.

After this course, you may wish to consider applying for Central’s Advanced Theatre Practice, MA, or move on to a new area of actor training such as Acting - For Camera or Voice for Performance - An Introduction.
