Congratulations to Mark Hunter, Central’s Vice-Principal (Curriculum and Students), who has been appointed to the panel for the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023.

Due to the adverse weather conditions today, rail and other transportation services may be impacted or cancelled. Central staff, students and visitors are encouraged to stay indoors and not travel to our campus in Swiss Cottage unless absolutely necessary.

Congratulations to Central’s Class of 2022, who graduated on Wednesday 7 December in a ceremony held at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

In November, Central’s Dr Sylvan Baker (Senior Lecturer in Community Performance Applied Theatre) is involved in two projects as a part of the 2022 Being Human Festival.

Following news last week that Sonia Friedman OBE had been appointed its President, Central is now delighted to announce the appointments of four new Vice Presidents: Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Anne Mensah, Ben Okri and Jenny Sealey.  Olivier Award winning actor Zoë Wanamaker, a graduate and long-serving Vice President of Central, is also excited to confirm that she will continue in post.

Central is excited to announce that it has once again been selected to take part in this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge.  Between 29 November – 6 December, the School will be raising funds for Scholarships and Bursaries to support the next generation of Central students.

Central is excited to announce that it has appointed graduate and acclaimed producer Sonia Friedman OBE as its new President.

This autumn, Central was pleased to host a special launch event to celebrate the release of "Nagasaki: The Forgotten Prisoners". Written by the Chair of Central’s Board of Governors, John Willis, this unique book uses unpublished and rarely seen notes, diaries, interviews and memoirs to tell the harrowing stories of the forgotten Nagasaki prisoners of war, in their own voices.

Central is delighted to announce that it will once again be working with Generation Arts on Get Scene 2023.
The partnership includes free masterclasses delivered by practitioners from Central and Generation Arts, free drama school auditions and one-to-one support.

In order to further widen access to its training, Central is delighted to launch its new Access to Central Bursary. Launching in October 2023, the bursary will ensure that incoming UK-based undergraduate students from households with an income of under £35,000 will be eligible for a bursary from the School to help fund their studies.

Through 16 October, Dr Dani Ploeger’s ‘Line of Contact’ will be displayed as a part of the BFI’s London Film Festival. The work has been nominated for the London Film Festival’s Best Immersive and XR Award 2022.
