This course will enable you to begin to engage practically and theoretically with Shakespeare’s plays.
Week one will concentrate on the challenge of performing Shakespearean texts, including taking part in Central’s specialist voice and movement training. The following weeks will develop the performance work by bringing in a critical perspective and evaluating the choices available to the actor.
You must have prepared a Shakespearean monologue before the start of the course (details will be given on acceptance of a place). You will work towards an informal showing at the end of the course.
Dates: Monday 16th July - Friday 27th July. Monday - Friday each week. 10:00 - 16:30 each day.
Minimum Age: 18 years
Note: Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants must be confident speaking English to a conversational level (ideally IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent).
Visas and Immigration: If you are not from an EU or EEA country or Switzerland, you will need to obtain a Visa prior to entry to the UK (if you are a visa national) or upon entry to the UK (if you are a non-visa national). It is each student's responsibility to have the right documentation for study when they arrive at RCSSD.
Please note that you cannot enter the UK on a Visitor's Visa if your primary reason for travel is to study on this course. if you do not have a valid visa you will not be allowed to study at RCSSD.
